Golden Gate Area Council
The Redwood Empire Council BSA has served youth and families in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties for over 100 years. In 2025, Redwood Empire merged with the Golden Gate Area Council, increasing opportunities for our scouts across Sonoma and Marin counties.
We are looking forward to great things for our scouts with this joint venture.
The Council exists to provide training to unit leaders, merit badge sponsors, camping resources to all units, and facilitate Order of the Arrow for the Orca Lodge.

The Order of the Arrow (OA) is Scouting's national camping honor society. It recognizes Scouts and Scouters (adults) who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well
