Summer Camp Baldwin

Updated: Sep 5, 2022

July 16th, 2022:
Our Summer Camp adventure took us to Camp Baldwin, east of Mt. Hood in Oregon.

The trip up to camp Baldwin was fun. We stopped at Little Crater Lake on the way up and it was a nice camp set up with a nice view over the lake.

We arrived at Camp Baldwin early in order to get our medical check and swimming done quickly. When we got there the camp gave each troop their food for the night and on the last night/morning, they served us food again. We were responsible for preparing and cooking our food, and then dish clean up.

Camp Baldwin offers merit badges and activities to help with Eagle requirements, but most activities were focused on having fun or learning new things. The activities were great. Our troop did the Horse Ride and Astronomy Night watch. The Horse Ride allowed us to ride horses to old Camp Baldwin where we spent the night. For the Astronomy night watch, we went to the dam and looked at the stars.

The way back was also fun and I enjoyed being able to spend the night at Castle Crag as well as going on a nice hike while we were there.
