Yosemite - January Snow Trip

One of the most enjoyable trips I've ever taken was our troop trip to Yosemite. When we first arrived at camp, we discovered that our campsite was flooded. Fortunately, we discovered a new campsite that wasn't flooded and didn't have any snow on it. The next step was to set up our tents and other supplies, including food, in the snow. I fell asleep since I was exhausted after we finished setting everything up, which took longer than expected due to the snow.

I discovered snow close to my tent when I awoke the following morning. When I emerged from my tent, I was unable to even see the ground. Because I couldn't see the ground, occasionally I would walk and fall a foot deep. After lunch, we discovered a hill where we could use the sleds we had brought. Playing in the snow was the biggest highlight of this trip. After that, it was time for dinner, and because we had been throwing snowballs at one another, we were all drenched. I can still taste the soup I had, which was really delicious.

The following day, with more snow falling, we had to pack up everyone in our shelter. We were quick to finish packing. Our adult leaders taught us how to put chains on before we left for home so that we wouldn't get stuck in the snow.
